Intellect is proud to participate in the HUBZone program as a certified company. We align with the SBA HUBZone program mission to promote job growth, capital investment, and economic development in historically underutilized business zones, or HUBZones. We participate in the HUBZone program by hiring staff and delivering contract services at facilities in economically distressed communities.
The HUBZone program limits competition for certain contracts to businesses in historically underutilized business zones. The program also gives preferential consideration to those businesses in full and open competition, where HUBZone-certified businesses also get a 10 percent price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions.
As an SBA-certified HUBZone company, Intellect is also eligible for sole source awards. From the SBA website (HUBZone administration):
“A sole-source HUBZone contract can be awarded if the contracting officer doesn’t have a reasonable expectation that two or more qualified HUBZone small businesses will submit offers, determines that the qualified HUBZone small business is responsible, and determines that the contract can be awarded at a fair price. The government estimate cannot exceed $7.5 million for manufacturing requirements or $4 million for all other requirements.”
Please refer to the SBA site for current, complete detail on using the HUBZone program to your organization’s benefit.
Economically Disadvantaged Women-owned Small Business (EDWOSB) – Intellect is certified by the U.S. Small Business administration as an EDWOSB, eligible to compete for all acquisitions set aside for this category. For more information please see the SBA web site.
